Trash Off will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 2nd in the McMahon Memorial Auditorium parking lot, giving Lawton residents an opportunity to properly dispose of large, bulky, or environmentally hazardous items that should not be placed in regular household trash.
Residents may bring items such as batteries, tires (no larger than truck size), scrap metal, appliances, fire extinguishers, paint, and sensitive documents for shredding. Items suitable for donation will also be accepted by SuperThrift.
The following items will not be accepted:
• Medical or hazardous waste
• Ammunition
• Compressed gas cylinders
• Tires with rims
• Commercial waste
Trash Off is free for Lawton residents; however, proof of a Lawton address is required. Acceptable forms of identification include a government-issued ID, a City of Lawton utility bill, or an active military ID. Non-residents may participate for a $25 fee, payable by cash or check.
