Cindy Mcintyre
Cindy has worn many hats over the past seven decades, including serving as a soldier in the Women’s Army Corps, a park ranger in five national parks and one wildlife refuge, a Department of the Army public affairs civilian, and a self-employed artist and photographer.
After living in at least 12 states, she is ready to put down roots. Now semi-retired, they are transforming their backyard into a native wildflower garden and their front yard into a mix of native and ornamental plants.
As an artist, Cindy strives to create photography as visual poetry—evocative and memorable. She first came to Lawton in 2015 to work at the Fort Sill Tribune and later returned, drawn by the wild beauty of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge and the charm of Lawton’s small-town atmosphere. To her, the refuge is more than a landscape—it is a sanctuary, a source of inspiration, and a place of peace.

Cassie Magrath
Cassie’s passion for the arts runs deep—her great-grandmother, Mary Grace Ashlock, received this same award in 1979, making this honor even more special.
She took the stage at just four years old, and since then, her talent has shined in six professional productions, over 40 local and regional shows, three collegiate performances, and two short films. Cassie has even performed Off-Broadway three times and earned three Broadway World Awards for her outstanding performances in Oklahoma.
A proud Lawton native, Cassie credits her success to the local arts community that shaped her. She is grateful to be part of a city where the arts continue to thrive!
